How to enjoy your jewelry
Wearing Jewelry
Please refrain from wearing the product while bathing, sleeping, playing sports, or doing heavy work, as it may become discolored, stained, damaged, or deformed.
Please refrain from wearing this product in saunas or ski resorts as it may cause burns or frostbite.
If you notice any abnormalities on your skin, stop using the product immediately and consult a specialist.
Storing your jewelry
To reduce stains and discoloration caused by sweat and sebum, wipe with a soft cloth or a special cloth after wearing, and store in a sealable plastic bag, the included pouch, or case.
Please avoid storing in direct sunlight or in hot, humid places.
The materials used in jewelry are sensitive to chemicals such as detergents, cosmetics, and perfumes, as well as water. Please try to avoid contact with these substances.
Handling of jewelry
Jewelry is very delicate. Please avoid dropping, hitting, pulling, or applying pressure to it, as this may cause damage to the product.
For products that use chains, such as necklaces and bracelets, the parts connecting the chain and hook are designed to come off when stress is applied in order to ensure your safety. To prevent these parts from coming off or the chain from breaking, please remove your jewelry before putting on or taking off your clothes.
Please remove it when carrying luggage or playing sports that require equipment.
About Silver
Due to the characteristics of the material, silver may react with moisture, dust, sweat, etc. in the air and turn black. Avoid wearing silver for long periods of time or leaving it in contact with water. After wearing, wipe it with a soft cloth or a special cloth (make sure to wipe off any moisture), and store it in a sealable plastic bag or wrapped in cloth to avoid contact with air as much as possible.
About jewelry materials
Silver
This metal has long been used in jewelry due to its white luster. Most of the items sold at NEEDIS are silver 925 (sterling silver). *There are some exceptions.
This number indicates the silver content in parts per thousand, i.e. 925 parts per thousand, meaning that the silver product is made up of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals.
Silver has the property of reacting to components in the air, sweat, sebum, etc., and turning black.
gold
Like silver, gold has been used in jewelry since ancient times. Because it is very soft and easily stretched, alloying it with other metals increases its strength, hardness, and abrasion resistance. NEEDIS carries 18K gold, 14K gold, and 10K gold.
Gold content is often expressed as a percentage of 24, with 18K gold being 18/24, or 75% gold and 25% other metals, and 10K gold being 10/24, or about 42% gold.
Colored gold such as "white gold" and "pink gold" are created by changing the color of the metals combined and their proportions. (White gold is finished with rhodium plating.)
platinum
Platinum is a white metal and is also called white gold. Because it is written as white gold, it is often confused with white gold, but platinum is a "single metal" while white gold is an "alloy made with gold as the base," and they are completely different materials.
Platinum is a stable material that rarely tarnishes or changes in quality. It is a precious metal with a very high specific gravity and is very heavy. It is highly rare, and is a popular precious metal in Japan, especially for wedding rings.
NEEDIS carries Platinum 950, Platinum 900, and Platinum 850. *Depending on the product.
Platinum content is expressed in parts per thousand. Platinum 950 is 950 parts per thousand, or 95% platinum and 5% other metals.
